Michelle Kim, LCPAT, LGPC

Art Therapist & Therapist

Michelle is a licensed clinical art therapist (LCPAT) and licensed graduate professional counselor (LGPC), graduating from Maryland’s first Art Therapy program at the Notre Dame of Maryland University in Baltimore. She comes with a wide range of clinical skills and experiences, including forensic inpatient, community outpatient and youth residential settings.

Michelle believes in the power of self-awareness. Understanding oneself, why we are the way we are, and having empathy and acceptance for that person is incredibly empowering. Michelle creates a nonjudgmental and safe environment for clients to be curious about themselves, and to work toward their short- and long-term goals.

Art therapy is more than just artmaking, and it is unique to each client. Fostering creativity and self expression can allow for a deeper understanding and development of one’s identity, in many different ways. It is entirely up to the client how much art they would like to incorporate into their therapy. Artmaking can happen within the session, or outside of the session to allow more time for processing and conversation during the session.
